WILMINGTON, Delaware (April 10, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden golf team shot a first-round 334 score to stand in eighth place on the opening day of the 12-team Swarthmore DuPont Invitational.
 
The two-day event is being held at the Par 71, 7,120-yard DuPont Country Club. The Scarlet Raptors will finish the competition on Tuesday.
 
Host Swarthmore is leading with a team score of 307, five strokes ahead of second-place Goucher.
 
A total of 59 golfers competed on Monday, with Scarlet Raptor senior Patrick DeMareo tying for 13th place with an 8-over par 79. A pair of Raptors, senior David Gibson and freshman Reid Walker, are tied for 33rd with rounds of 84, while freshman Pearse Lee carded an 87 to tie for 45th. Senior Ryan Lewbart was one stroke behind Lee, sitting in 47th place with a round of 88.
