Lewis, Onu double-double trouble as Raptors top Bryn Athyn

Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Penn. (Jan. 13, 2014) – Junior center/forward Tanjae Lewis (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) and sophomore forward Michelle Onu (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) both collected double-doubles to power the Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team over Bryn Athyn College, 54-48, in a non-conference game here Monday night.
The win snapped the Scarlet Raptors' four-game losing streak and hiked their record to 3-8.

After trailing by as many as seven points (12-5) early in the game, the Scarlet Raptors finally took the lead for good at 20-19 on the first of two straight foul shots by junior guard Alex Gravinese (Audubon, NJ/Audubon). By halftime, Rutgers-Camden held a 29-22 advantage and the Scarlet Raptors led by as many as 17 points (51-34) in the second half.

Lewis collected 15 points and 15 rebounds to notch her second double-double of the season, while Onu canned 13 points and added 17 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

Lewis also blocked three shots and added two assists and two steals.
Gravinese, meanwhile, scored 14 points and added three assists, while sophomore guard Falecia Galindez (Camden, NJ/Pennsauken Tech) dished out a game- and career-high six assists. She also added five points and two rebounds.

Junior forward Irene Grimanis (Brooklawn, NJ/Gloucester) added 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Scarlet Raptors held a 63-42 advantage off the boards.

Rutgers-Camden shot 28.2 percent (20-for-71) and Bryn Athyn shot 29.0 (18-for-62) from the floor.

For the home team, freshman Kristina Clark (Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy) scored 15 points, while freshman Hajaaha Stevens (Philadelphia, PA/School of the Future) had a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Wednesday with a 6 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference game at New Jersey City University.
