Box Score GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Richard Stockton College women's basketball team went on a 25-10 run to open the second half and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 67-45, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
The Ospreys, who have won four straight games, even their record at 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the NJAC.
The Scarlet Raptors fall to 2-7 overall and 0-6 in the conference with their third straight loss.
Stockton, which has won its last 22 games against Rutgers-Camden, holds a 52-18 lead in the all-time series.
In a tight first half, the Ospreys took an early 11-4 lead before the Scarlet Raptors countered with a 17-9 run to take their lone lead of the night, 21-20, on a pair of foul shots by junior guard
Alex Gravinese (Audubon, NJ/Audubon). Stockton closed out the half with a 9-4 run to lead, 29-25, at the break.
Senior forward
Lauren Alwan (Winslow, NJ/Timber Creek) scored the first five points of the second half to spark Stockton's big run. The run lifted the Ospreys into a 54-35 lead.
The Ospreys' junior guard
Alex Nardoza (Fords, NJ/Woodbridge) produced a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while adding six assists and four steals.
Junior forward
Sara Farrell (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected a game-high 18 points for Stockton, while Alwan notched 17 points and eight rebounds and senior forward
Cara Parliament (Manchester, NJ/Manchester Township) added 13 points and nine rebounds.
Rutgers-Camden sophomore forward
Michelle Onu (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) collected the eighth double-double of her career, and fourth this season, for the Scarlet Raptors. She notched 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Sophomore guard
Krystle Cook (Philadelphia, PA/Girard College) paced the Raptors with 12 points, shooting 6-for-13 from the floor. Sophomore guard
Falecia Galindez (Camden, NJ/Pennsauken Tech) added a career-high seven points and Gravinese finished with six points.
Junior guard
Monica Burch (Lawnside, NJ/Sterling) dished out six assists for Rutgers-Camden.
Although Stockton barely outshot Rutgers-Camden from the floor (32.4 percent on 22-for-68 shooting for the Ospreys to 30.6 percent for the Raptors on 19-for-62 shooting), the home team held a 49-42 advantage off the boards and outscored the visitors, 21-5, from the foul line. Stockton also forced 26 Raptor turnovers, while making 19 of its own.
Both teams return to NJAC action at 1 p.m. Saturday. Rutgers-Camden hosts Kean University, while Richard Stockton plays at Montclair State University.
