Box Score CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 6, 2014) – The Kean University women's basketball team opened up a 31-22 halftime lead and rode the hot hands of freshman center
Najha Treadwell (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and senior guard
AnnaRose Pierre (East Orange, NJ/Newark Tech) to a 77-64 victory over Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday afternoon.
Treadwell poured in a game-high 25 points and added a team-high nine rebounds, while Pierre scored 20 points for the Cougars. Pierre scored 15 points in the second half for the Cougars, while Treadwell added 14.
Kean improves to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars have won 18 of their last 19 games against the Scarlet Raptors and leads the all-time series, 44-18.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.
After the Scarlet Raptors opened with a pair of field goals by freshman forward
Michelle Obasi (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) to take an early 4-0 lead, the Cougars came back and took the lead for good, 7-6, on a foul shot by Treadwell. By halftime, Treadwell had 11 points, the Cougars held a nine-point lead, and the Scarlet Raptors had committed 14 of their 25 total turnovers in the game.
Kean led by as many as 20 points (68-48) in the second half.
Treadwell ended up shooting 12-for-17 from the floor, while Pierre was 9-for-16. As a team, the Cougars shot 34-for-66 (51.5 percent).
Rutgers-Camden received a double-double of 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds from Obasi, her first collegiate double-double. The 18 points tied her young career high, set against King's College on Nov. 16.

Tanjae Lewis (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) scored 15 points for the Raptors, while junior guard
Krystle Cooke (Philadelphia, PA/Girard College) had 14 points, including 10-for-13 shooting from the foul line.

Irene Grimanis (Brooklawn, NJ/Gloucester) collected seven rebounds to move into 10th place on the program's career list 492. She passed Marchelle Coleman, who had 486 from 1993-95.
The Scarlet Raptors shot 24-for-59 as a team (40.7 percent) and out-rebounded the Cougars, 45-33, led by Obasi's 10 boards and seven apiece from Lewis and Grimanis. Rutgers-Camden, however, also made 10 more turnovers (25-15).
Both teams return to action on Wednesday, hosting NJAC opponents in 6 p.m. games. Kean faces Rutgers-Newark, while Rutgers-Camden battles Richard Stockton College.
