WAYNE, N.J. (Oct. 2, 2016) – Freshman Danielle Lemma (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) won her second singles victory in as many days to account for the lone Rutgers University-Camden win as William Paterson University defeated the Scarlet Raptors, 8-1, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match here Sunday.
 
Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC, while Paterson improves to 1-7 and 1-5.
 
Lemma posted a 6-1, 6-3 victory at second singles to improve her singles mark to 4-2 in her rookie season. She has won her last four  singles matches.
 
Freshman Annalise Kipp (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) faced a huge challenge at first singles, where she had to play last season's NJAC Player of the Year Brittany LaBruna. LaBruna took a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
 
At third singles, sophomore Ashley Flores (Camden, NJ/Moorestown Friends) lost a 6-0, 6-4 match, while senior Millie Kipp (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) lost 6-1, 6-3 at fourth singles. Freshman Trinh Nguyen (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) lost 6-1, 6-1 decision at fifth singles and sophomore Bryana Foxx-Parham (Richmond, VA/Armstrong) lost at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Paterson won all three doubles matches, including an 8-2 decision against Annalise Kipp and Lemma at first doubles. The Pioneers swept the second and third doubles by 8-0 scores over Millie Kipp and Flores and the team of Nguyen and Foxx-Parham, respectively.
 
Rutgers-Camden returns to action on Sunday when it plays a 4 p.m. match at Rutgers-Newark.
