CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 30, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team may be young, but that hasn't stopped the Scarlet Raptors from accomplishing feats that hasn't happened in the program for years.

Rutgers-Camden, which features four freshmen and two juniors in its starting lineup, swept Kean University, 9-0, here Sunday in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match.

The Raptors raised their overall record to 5-1, matching the most wins the team has posted since a 5-7 campaign during the 2014-15 scholastic year. Rutgers-Camden is now 3-1 in the NJAC, tying the most wins they have had in the NJAC since their program was re-started during the 2011-12 scholastic year. They were 3-3 during the 2013-14 campaign.

Rutgers-Camden won all of its singles matches, led by juniors
Aubrey Hawn and
Danielle Lemma in the top two spots. Hawn won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Lemma captured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the second spot. The Raptors' four freshmen followed to sweep the singles competition, with
Tiffany Trivers winning at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1),
LeAnne Hall capturing a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4,
Morgan Dempsey earning a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the fifth spot and
Hannah Cohan completing the singles sweep with a 6-2, 7-5 victory at the sixth flight.

Hall,
pictured above, and Trivers both improved their singles records to 5-1 this season.

In doubles, the team of Hawn and Hall and the duo of Dempsey and Cohan posted 8-0 wins at the first and third spot, respectively. Lemma and Trivers earned an 8-2 win at the second doubles spot.

The Scarlet Raptors have another big week in the NJAC this week. On Wednesday, they visit Ramapo College to complete a match started on Sept. 8 before the rains hit. Rutgers-Camden leads that match, 2-1, after the doubles competition was played. The Raptors travel to Rutgers-Newark on Saturday for another NJAC match. They will play the Scarlet Raiders at 2 p.m.
