HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 11, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team tied its program record for the best season start and very nearly set a new mark as the Scarlet Raptors split a tri-match at Centenary University here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden swept host Centenary, 3-0, before losing in five sets against King's College of Pennsylvania.
The Raptors, who were 5-1 after the Centenary win to tie the program's best start set in 2010, are 5-2 overall after the King's match.
Rutgers-Camden opens New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Tuesday when it travels to Montclair State University for a 7 p.m. match.

The Scarlet Raptors swept the Cyclones, 25-4, 25-19 and 25-12.
Sophomore
Isabella Choice led the attack with nine kills and a .429 hitting percentage, while sophomore
Erica Nebrich added seven kills and hit .545. Senior
Brinn Hassan had 19 assists to move into second place on the program's all-time chart with 1,234, passing her sister Brooke (2013-15), who had 1,227. Brinn also joined senior
Delaney Kolb with four service aces apiece, while senior
Morgan Fox had 10 digs and three aces.
The Scarlet Raptors hit .386 as a team while slamming 30 kills.
King's 3, Rutgers-Camden 2
The Monarchs outlasted the Scarlet Raptors in five sets, 25-21, 17-25, 25-15, 15-25 and 15-11.
Choice had 13 kills, while senior
Devyn Cobb had 12, while hitting .360 and adding four blocks.
Sophomore
Kaliyah Moss notched 11 kills, 13 digs, five blocks and two service aces, while also adding one assist.
Hassan collected 39 more assists to hike her total to 1,273. She also had a double-double by notching 10 digs. Nebrich and Kolb, meanwhile, had 12 digs apiece, with Kolb adding four service aces and six kills.
Fox led the team with 20 digs.
