Brinn Hassan tied her own program record with 53 assists in a match and junior middle hitter/outside hitter
Isabella Choice had 23 kills for the program's fourth-highest total in a four-set match as the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team defeated Gwynedd Mercy University, 3-1, here Thursday night.
Rutgers-Camden won by set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 23-25 and 25-23.
The Scarlet Raptors evened their record at 12-12 with their third straight win. The Griffins fell to 7-15.
In a close first set, Rutgers-Camden rallied from a 19-23 deficit, running off five straight points to take a 24-23 lead. The run included a pair of Gwynedd Mercy attack errors sandwiched around one kill by junior outside hitter
Dyamond Free and a pair of kills by Choice. After the Griffins tied the set at 24-24, the Scarlet Raptors notched the next two points on kills by Choice and Free to wrap up the win.
In the second set, Rutgers-Camden built a 23-20 lead and clinched its win on a Griffin attack error and a kill by sophomore right side
Peyton McGregor.
Gwynedd Mercy rallied from a 22-23 deficit in the third set, scoring the final three points on two kills and a Raptor attack error.
In the final set, the Raptors took the lead for good on a kill by senior defensive specialist
Haley Novak and wrapped up the set and the match on a kill by sophomore middle hitter/right side
Kaitlyn Parrish.
Hassan, who set the program's overall and five-set record with 53 assists against Montclair State University on Oct. 11, tied her own overall record and set a new program four-set record. Her second 53-assist match of the year broke the program's four-set mark of 52 assists, set by Julie Lo against Rowan University on Oct. 3, 2006.
Hassan added nine digs.
Choice's 23 kills were only four shy of the program's four-set match mark of 27, set by Julie Grochowski against Chestnut Hill College on Oct. 26, 2005. Choice hit .283 and added three block assists in the match.
Parrish finished with 15 kills while hitting .400, and Novak had 11 digs and five aces. Senior libero/defensive specialist
Morgan Fox collected 24 digs, while freshman libero/defensive specialist
Bella Craig added 15 digs.

Ciera McCrae notched eight kills and 10 digs, Free had seven kills and McGregor collected four kills and four block assists.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a tri-match at Goucher College. The host team faces Roanoke at 11 a.m., followed by the Scarlet Raptors against Roanoke at 1 p.m. Rutgers-Camden will play Goucher at 3 p.m.
