Box Score

CAMDEN, N.J. – Junior guard Kamari Talley (Camden, NJ/Creative Arts) notched her fourth double-double of the season with 13 rebounds and a game-high 18 points to lead the Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team over Ramapo College, 57-43, in a Senior Day game here Saturday afternoon.

The game was the final home contest for the trio of Scarlet Raptor tri-captains Alex Gravinese (Audubon, NJ/Audubon), Irene Grimanis (Brooklawn, NJ/Gloucester) and Tanjae Lewis (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling), who will end their Rutgers-Camden careers Wednesday with a 6 p.m. NJAC game at New Jersey City University.

Rutgers-Camden improves to 9-15 overall and 5-12 in the NJAC, snapping a four-game losing streak. The last time the Scarlet Raptors had more NJAC wins came during the 2002-03 season, when they went 12-6 and became the first team in school history, of any program, to win the NJAC title and play in the NCAA tournament.

Ramapo falls to 4-20 overall and 0-17 in the NJAC with its 15th straight loss. The Roadrunners close their season Wednesday with a 6 p.m. NJAC game at Rutgers-Newark.

Rutgers-Camden leads the all-time series, 33-21.

Although they led most of the first half, including margins as large as 10 points, the Scarlet Raptors were tied just before halftime. A layup by Ramapo junior center Grace Elliott (Detroit, MI/Detroit Country Day School) made it a 22-22 game at the half.

Elliott opened the second half making one of two foul shots to give Ramapo a 23-22 lead. Moments later, Rutgers-Camden took the lead for good, 24-23, on a jumper by Lewis. Freshman forward Michelle Obasi (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) tacked on another jumper to make it 26-23, and the closest the Roadrunners came after that was one point, at 26-25. The Raptors led by as many as 15 points, on three occasions, the rest of the way.

In addition to Talley's big game, Lewis and Gravinese added 11 points apiece, with Lewis falling one rebound short of a double-double. Grimanis controlled the boards, hauling down 17 rebounds and helping the Raptors hold a 55-29 advantage off the glass.

Gravinese hit three three-pointers, helping her set the single-season mark of 69 and raising her career program record to 168. Grimanis, meanwhile, vaulted into eighth place on the program's career rebounding list with 642, and now trails seventh-place Krystal Jankowski (2004-08) by only three rebounds.

Freshman guard Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic), meanwhile, had a game-high seven assists, hiking her season total to 98. With two more assists she can become the eighth player in program history to reach 100 assists in one season, while she also needs three steals to become the 15th player with 70 steals in a season. If she accomplishes both feats, she'll be only the fourth player in program history to do that in one season.

For Ramapo, freshman guard Jina Crawford (New City, NY/Paramus Catholic) had 12 points and a game-high five steals, while Elliott notched 10 points and seven boards. Sophomore forward Kellie Lane (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Ridgefield Park) also scored 10 for the Roadrunners.
