CAMDEN, N.J. (Jan. 21, 2017) – Junior guard Jovan Childers (Bridgeton, NJ/Bridgeton) scored 18 points to pace four Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball players in double figures as the Scarlet Raptors defeated New Jersey City University, 75-45, here Saturday in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.

The win lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 11-6 overall and 5-5 in the NJAC, while NJCU falls to 4-14 and 0-11. After sweeping the season series, Rutgers-Camden now has won five of its last six games against NJCU, including four straight, and leads the all-time series, 36-24.

Rutgers-Camden never trailed in the game, which was tied only twice, at 9-9 and 11-11. The Scarlet Raptors built a 37-23 halftime lead and the final 30-point margin was their biggest lead of the game.

After NJCU fought back from a 9-2 deficit to tie the game twice, Childers' layup with 3:00 left in the first quarter put Rutgers-Camden ahead to stay. Childers finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Scarlet Raptors. Sophomore guard Gabby Greene (Howell, NJ/Howell) notched 16 points, aided by 5-for-14 shooting from three-point range which hiked her career total to 103 treys. She is only the fourth player in program history to pass the 100-trey milestone.

Racobaldo finished with 12 points, a team-high eight rebounds and game-high totals of eight assists and five steals. Her eight assists hiked her career total to 319, passing both Tamara Carey (313 from 1991-95) and Erin James (318, 2001-04) and moving into second place on the program's all-time list. She also moved alone into fifth place on the career list for steals with 191, breaking a tie with Krystal Jankowski (2004-08).

Senior center Caroline Santiago (Buena, NJ/Buena Regional) also added 12 points for the Raptors, who shot 29-for-62 (46.8 percent) from the floor, forced 22 NJCU turnovers and held a 35-34 edge off the boards.

NJCU received its third straight double-double from junior center Shege Haxhaj (Lyndhurst, NJ/Lyndhurst), who scored 10 points and added a game-high 10 rebounds.
