EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. (September 21, 2021) – Junior
Patrick DeMareo earned medalist honors in his first outing of the season, leading the Rutgers University-Camden golf team over a pair of teams here Tuesday at the Stockton University Invitational.
The Scarlet Raptors' season-opening match was held at the Vineyard National Golf Course, a par 72, 6,766-yard course.
DeMareo carded a 1-over par 73 to lead a field of 14 golfers. He helped Rutgers-Camden card a 317 team score to finish ahead of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia B Team (348) and Stockton University (358).
Sophomore
Max Strout finished second on the Raptors and second overall with a round of 75, while junior
Lucas Kunkel finished third on the team and tied for fourth overall with an 84. Rounding out the Scarlet Raptor team was junior
David Gibson, who carded a round of 85 to finish sixth overall.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Monday, October 4, when it hosts the United East Preview tournament at Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro.
