AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) scored a game-high 32 points, including 14-for-15 shooting from the foul line, to lead the Neumann University women's basketball team over Rutgers University-Camden, 83-68, in a non-conference game here Monday night.
The Knights improve to 7-6. The Scarlet Raptors, still trying to recover from a flu bug that forced cancellation of Saturday's game, fall to 9-4.
Neumann never trailed in the game, taking a first-half lead as big as 14 points (30-16), and leading by 14 points (46-32) midway through the third quarter before the Scarlet Raptors went on a huge 17-3 run. They tied the game at 49-49 on a layup by junior guard/forward
Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) with 22 seconds left in the third quarter, but the Knights regained the lead at the break on a layup by sophomore forward/center
Mariah Maciejewski (Dunmore, PA/Dunmore).
Neumann opened the fourth quarter with a 10-2 run and led by double digits most of the remainder of the game. The final 15-point margin was the Knights' biggest lead of the night.
Hayes added 17 rebounds to her great shooting night, finishing with a double-double of game-high points and boards. Maciejewski also finished with a double-double, adding 20 points and 11 rebounds, in addition to dishing off five assists. Junior guard
Lauren Legler (Stone Harbor, NJ/Middle Township) poured down 19 points and added a four steals for Neumann, which shot 28-for-62 (45.2 percent) from the floor and 22-for-34 (64.7) from the foul line.

Michelle Obasi (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) added 14. Racobaldo and sophomore guard
Gabby Greene (Howell, NJ/Howell) scored 13 and 12 points, respectively. Racobaldo's output hiked her career total over the 500-point milestone to 512.

Michelle McCarthy (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) added a career-high six boards for the Raptors, who were out-rebounded, 55-47.
Childers added five assists to lead the Raptors and tie for game-high honors. Sophomore guard
Ariel Robinson (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) had a game-high five steals for the Raptors, setting a career high.
Rutgers-Camden shot only 31 percent (27-for-87) from the floor, including 5-for-28 (17.9) from three-point range.
Rutgers-Camden returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference play with a 6 p.m. game at Montclair State University on Wednesday.
