Fast start sparks Arcadia over Rutgers-Camden

GLENSIDE, Penn. (March 8, 2017) – The Arcadia University lacrosse team scored the first 10 goals of the game and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 18-6, in a non-conference game here Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Knights improve to 4-1 with their second straight win, while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 1-1.
 
Arcadia held a 10-0 lead before sophomore midfielder Brianna Manko (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) scored the Raptors' first goal with 14:11 remaining in the first half, assisted by junior midfielder Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ/Delran). Sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Ennis (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington) added another first-half goal for the Raptors, who trailed, 15-2, at the break.
 
Arcadia's attack was led by junior  midfielder Marie Brockman (Erdenheim, PA/Springfield Township) and freshman attack/midfielder Julia Imbert (Amityville, NY/Long Island Lutheran), who scored four goals apiece. Imbert also added an assist for five points on the day.
 
Freshman attack/midfielder Shannon Ryan (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia) had one goal and three assists, while senior midfielder Erin Misner (Westampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) collected two goals and two assists, notching four points apiece for the Knights.
 
Martin notched two goals and two assists for four points for the Scarlet Raptors. Her two assists gave her 25 for her brief Rutgers-Camden career, tying Annalise Stroman (2010-13) for third on the program's all-time list.
 
Manko notched two goals for Rutgers-Camden, while Ennis and sophomore midfielder Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) both had one. Junior attack Elizabeth Giordano (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) collected one assist.
 
Freshman goalie Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) had 10 saves for Rutgers-Camden as Arcadia held a 30-12 advantage in shots.
 
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when it hosts DeSales University at 1 p.m.
