MONTCLAIR, New Jersey (April 29, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's lacrosse team came up short against a strong attack by Montclair State University here today at Sprague Field, as the Red Hawks defeated the Scarlet Raptors 17-2 in the final New Jersey Athletic Conference contest of the season.
Sophomore midfielder
Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson) and junior midfielder
Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) each tallied a goal for the Scarlet Raptors, who finished their season at 5-11 (0-6 NJAC). Both players assisted on each other's goals.
Martin finished the season as the team leader in goals (33), assists (14), and points (47).
The Red Hawks jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the contest.
Martin broke the run by Montclair, who then scored three straight.
Mayer chopped away at the Red Hawk lead, but Montclair ran off the final three goals for a 12-2 halftime lead. Montclair would add 5 second half goals before the final horn blew.

Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) made 1 save on the day.
Martin provided 3 ground balls for the Scarlet Raptors, while
