CAMDEN, N.J. (March 2, 2017) – It didn't take long for the 2017 Rutgers University-Camden lacrosse team to set program history.

With its 15-2 victory over Rosemont College here Thursday night, the Scarlet Raptors posted the first season-opening victory in the history of their program, which started in 2010. Rutgers-Camden extends its all-time series versus Rosemont to 4-0.

Rutgers-Camden jumped out to an early lead, as goals from Brianna Manko (Stratford, NJ, Sterling), Taylor Reader (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade), and Kaitlyn Ennis (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) put the Raptors up 5-0 within the first four minutes. Rosemont had little response for the quick offense that the Raptors provided, with a halftime score of 12-1. Rutgers-Camden would add 3 goals in the second half and the Ravens added a second before the final horn blew.

In a high scoring night for the Raptors, Ennis registered 4 goals and 2 assists, while Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson) and Reader both added 3 goals. Manko and Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) both added 2 goals each for Rutgers-Camden, who had eight different players register at least one point on the night. Martin and Jennie Klanchar (Mullica Hill, NJ, Clearview Regional) both added two assists each for the Raptors. It was Klanchar's first points of her collegiate career. Tiffany Hoffman (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade) netted her first goal of the season, and Elizabeth Giordano (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic) provided one assist on the night.

Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) made 7 saves on 9 shots that Rosemont put on the cage. She is 1-0 on the year with the season opening win.

Rosemont's goals were provided by Jen South and Victoria Kasper, who registered 9 shots on goal between the two of them.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Wednesday with a 4 p.m. game at Arcadia University. Their next home game will be on Saturday, March 11, with a 1 p.m. start versus DeSales University.
