CAMDEN, New Jersey (April 25, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's lacrosse team came up short against a swift attack by Rowan University here today at Rutgers-Camden Community Park, as the Profs defeated the Scarlet Raptors in a wet and rainy New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup by a score of 17-1.
The Scarlet Raptors drop to 4-10 (0-5 NJAC) on the season, as Rowan raises their record to 10-5 (3-2 NJAC). The Profs sit in 5
th in the women's lacrosse standings in the NJAC, despite being tied on points with two other teams.
Rachel Hofbauer, Liz Kramer, Maddie Bray, and
Megan Donnelly all recorded multi-goal games for the Profs, as the lone goal for the Scarlet Raptors came in the second half from junior midfielder
Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) off a dish from junior defender
Megan Everett (Marlton, NJ, Cherokee). It was
Martin's team-leading 29
th goal on the year.
Six goals in the first 10 minutes of play saw Rowan jump out to an early lead on the day. The Profs would add five more goals in the remainder of the first half to deliver a strong 11-0 lead into halftime. Rowan would outscore the Scarlet Raptors 6-1 in the second half.
Everett led both teams in ground balls on the day with 6. She also led the Scarlet Raptors in caused turnovers with 3, while sophomore defender

The Scarlet Raptors led 10-9 in draw controls, while Rowan had the edge in ground balls 34-21.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action on Senior Day when they host Gynedd Mercy University in a non-conference matchup on Thursday, April 27
th, with a 4 p.m. start.
Victoria Heifet will be honored as the lone senior prior to the start of the game.
