Box Score

MAHWAH, New Jersey (April 22, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's lacrosse team dropped a hard fought road game to the Ramapo College Roadrunners in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up by a final score of 11-10. Rutgers-Camden record is now 4-9 (0-4 NJAC) on the season, and Ramapo improves to 6-8 (1-4 NJAC).

Junior midfielder Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) posted a team-high 4 goals on the day, while sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Ennis (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington), sophomore midfielder Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson), and freshman attack Jennie Klanchar (Mullica Hill, NJ, Clearview Regional) all provided 2 goals each. Ennis, Mayer, and Klanchar all provided 1 assist on the day as well.

Ramapo captured their first win in the NJAC, as Alyssa Tachon scored four goals to lead the Roadrunners to their one-goal victory.

Back and forth action from both teams saw the game tied at 3-3 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half, as Mayer, Klanchar and Martin all scored in that opening span on the game. Ramapo jumped back on top 4-3 with just under 8 minutes to play, before goals from Ennis and Martin gave the Scarlet Raptors the lead 5-4 at halftime.

The Scarlet Raptors would keep their lead in the game until the 12:32 mark in the second half, when Ramapo tied the game at 7-7. Ennis and Mayer provided the early goals for Rutgers-Camden to establish the lead, but Ramapo responded with 6 straight goals in a span of 12 minutes to put the game just out of reach. A persistent comeback from the Scarlet Raptors saw goals fly in from Martin and Klanchar, but the 3 goals between the 2 was not enough to close the gap, as time expired with a score line of 11-10 in favor of Ramapo.

Rutgers Camden led in shots (25-23) and ground balls (15-14) on the day, as Ramapo led in draw controls (13-10). Junior defender Megan Everett (Marlton, NJ, Cherokee) led the team in ground balls with 4, and freshman defender Kacie Walton (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) added 3. Everett and senior defender Victoria Heifet (Cherry Hill, NJ, Cherry Hill West) contributed a major part in caused turnovers for the Scarlet Raptors, as they both posted 5 on the day.

Freshman goalkeeper Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) made 7 saves on the afternoon, while Roadrunner goalkeeper Monica Bubello made 12. Snyder's record in the cage on the season drops to 4-9.
