Senior Spotlight: Demi Albertini

Over the past several weeks, Rutgers University-Camden has been highlighting senior student-athletes who were denied their final athletic season when the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled their spring semester competition. In their own words, departing athletes have discussed their experiences at Rutgers-Camden.

The feature is posted every Monday and Thursday.

Today's focus is on Demi Albertini, a three-year member of the lacrosse program who transferred to Rutgers-Camden after attending Kutztown University during her freshman year. A senior academically who had junior athletic eligibility in lacrosse this season, Albertini is a Health Sciences major. She played in 28 games with the Scarlet Raptors, notching three goals and seven assists for 10 points, while adding 17 ground balls and two caused turnovers.

1.  What is your favorite memory being a student-athlete at Rutgers-Camden?

My favorite memory of being a student-athlete at Rutgers Camden is the family I've made from being on the lacrosse team. The girls will forever be my sisters.

2.  What will you miss the most?

I will miss the pre-away game bagels. Those really were the best.

3.  What is the best advice you have received from your coach?

The best advice I have received from my coach is practice was a place to get out of your head and just play. Just letting go and being in the moment.

     4.   What is next for you? What are your future plans and goals?

What is next for me is getting my masters, and hopefully working with children in a hospital setting.

     5.   Any special thanks, acknowledgements, or final words?

I just want to thank my coaches for pushing me to keep going and to never give up. Teammates, thank you for always being there and brightening up the day. Lastly, I want to thank my parents and family for supporting me all these years in school and sports. I can't believe it's finally over.
