CAMDEN, N.J. (March 11, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden lacrosse team surged to a large first half lead to hand DeSales University their fourth loss on the season, 14-9, in a non-conference game here on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon.

The Scarlet Raptor attack was too much to handle for the Bulldogs in the first half. Rutgers-Camden jumped out to a 6 goal lead 15 minutes into the game, with goals coming from

Meghan Giordano (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic). The Bulldogs would pull back two goals before halftime from
Amanda Foley and
Kelly Meade, but the Raptors' attack powered past the young defense to lead 9-2 at the half.
After the Raptors extended their lead to 11-2 just 2 minutes into the second half, a push from DeSales cut the lead in half to 11-6 midway through. Back and forth action saw the Raptors'
Reader register 2 of her 5 goals in that span, with an assist from sophomore attack
Rachel Fanrak (Pennsauken, NJ, Paul VI). It was
Fanrak's first point of the season. Freshman attack
Jennie Klanchar (Mullica Hill, NJ, Clearview Regional) sealed the win for Rutgers-Camden with her first goal of the season.

Victoria Heifet (Cherry Hill, NJ, Cherry Hill West) contributed 4 ground balls to Rutgers-Camden's defense, as well as 2 caused turnovers. She also added her first assist on the season.
Freshman goalkeeper
Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) registered 8 saves on the afternoon, while adding 2 ground balls as well. She raises her record in the Scarlet Raptor cage to 2-1 on the season.

Martin's assist today, she jumps into 3
rd place for career assists with 26 for the Scarlet Raptors. Her 4 points on the day also saw her jump in career point standings. She now sits in 7
th place with 66 career points, surpassing Jessica Giampietro (2010-13), and sits behind her sister, Alexa Giampietro (2010-13), who is in 6
th with 69 career points.
The win raises the Scarlet Raptors to 2-1 on the season. They have started their season 2-1 for the second year in a row. DeSales (1-4) is in their first-year of the women's lacrosse program, and notched their first ever win on Wednesday versus Gwynedd-Mercy University.
