CAMDEN, New Jersey (April 14, 2017) – Rutgers University-Camden exploded for 11 first half goals to power past Cedar Crest College by a final score of 12-2 here on Friday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Rutgers-Camden Community Park.
 
Sophomore midfielder Taylor Reader (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade), sophomore midfielder Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson), and junior midfielder Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) all registered multi-goal games this afternoon. Reader recorded a hat trick on 4 total shots to increase her total goals on the year to 15, while Mayer improved to 17 goals on the season. Team leading goal scorer and point scorer Martin notched her 19^th and 20^th goals this season, also increasing her total points on the year to 32 as she also collected a team-high 5 assists on the day.
 
The Scarlet Raptors jumped out to an early lead over the Falcons, gaining a 7-1 advantage just 15:06 into the game. By halftime, the Scarlet Raptors added 4 more goals to increase their lead to 11-1. Sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Ennis (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) notched a goal and an assist for the Scarlet Raptors. Freshman attack Jennie Klanchar (Mullica Hill, NJ, Clearview Regional) recorded her third goal of the season, and also added 2 assists. She ranks tied for second with Ennis in assists on the team with 8. The Falcons' lone goal of the half came from Regina Gill.
 
Both the Scarlet Raptors and the Falcons exchanged a goal apiece in the second half to round out the scoring in the game. Sophomore midfielder Brianna Manko (Stratford, NJ, Sterling) notched her 11^th goal of the season, as Cedar Crest recorded their second goal of the afternoon from Alexandra Zoda.
 
On the day, the Scarlet Raptors led in ground balls (18-10) and draw controls (15-0), while Cedar Crest held a slight advantage in caused turnovers (17-16). Senior defender Victoria Heifet (Cherry Hill, NJ, Cherry Hill West) led the Scarlet Raptors in ground balls with 3, while sharing 3 caused turnovers each with freshman attack Kacie Walton (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) and Ennis. Freshman defender Meghan Giordano (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic) collected 2 ground balls and a turnover, while sophomore attack Tiffany Hoffman (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade) netted her second goal of the year and 2 ground balls. Martin led the team in draw controls with 6, and Ennis and Heifet provided 5 and 4, respectively.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) turned away 5 of the 7 Falcons' shots on the afternoon to secure the win for Rutgers-Camden. She also collected 1 ground ball on the afternoon. Her record on the season increases to 4-7 in the Scarlet Raptor cage. Cedar Crest goalkeeper Kristen Payes saved 8 of the 20 shots by the Scarlet Raptor attack.
