CAMDEN, New Jersey (April 19, 2017) – An action-packed night here at Rutgers-Camden Community Park saw seven different lead changes in a high-scoring night for both teams, as the Stockton University Ospreys outlasted the Rutgers University-Camden Scarlet Raptors in New Jersey Athletic Conference play by a final score of 18-10. Rutgers-Camden's record drops to 4-8 (0-3 NJAC) on the season, as Stockton rises to 9-2 (3-1 NJAC).
Seven lead changes between the Scarlet Raptors and the Ospreys produced an entertaining night of women's lacrosse, as both teams exchanged goals back and forth in the opening 30 minutes. The Scarlet Raptors jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, thanks to goals from junior midfielder
Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) and sophomore midfielder
Kaitlyn Ennis (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington). Stockton cut the lead in half soon after
Ennis' goal. For 10 minutes, no goals were scored, but many opportunities were earned for each team.
After the Ospreys' next 2 goals, the Scarlet Raptor goal scorers combined to even the score at 3-3, as
Martin finished a feed from
Ennis. Sophomore midfielder
Brianna Manko (Stratford, NJ, Sterling) would score her first of 2 goals on the night to tie the game again after Stockton scored a fourth.
Martin executed a free position shot to give Rutgers-Camden a 5-4 lead, before Stockton scored 2 goals in the final 3 minutes of the first half to regain their lead at 6-5.
After
Martin's opening goal within 1 minute of the second half beginning, the Ospreys responded again with a goal to put them in the lead.
Ennis responded for the Scarlet Raptors, evening the score at 7-7 with 25:50 remaining in the game. Stockton fired home 2 goals in a span of 2 minutes after
Ennis' tying goal, and Rutgers-Camden would be unable to catch the Ospreys again.
Manko would add her second goal of the game to cut the Osprey lead to 1 goal, before Stockton scored back-to-back goals to make it 11-8. Sophomore midfielder
Jessica Mayer (Cinnaminson, NJ, Cinnaminson) scored on an assist from sophomore midfielder
Taylor Reader (Maple Shade, NJ, Maple Shade). Stockton won a span of draw controls and caused turnovers for the Scarlet Raptors, turning much of that possession into goal production.
Reader fired home the final goal of the game for the Scarlet Raptors for her 16
th goal of the season.

Everett also registered 3 caused turnovers, and seven different Raptors all registered a draw control.
Mayer led Rutgers-Camden on the night in draw controls with 3. Freshman defender
Kacie Walton (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) added 2 caused turnovers on the night.
Stockton led only by a narrow margin in the following categories: shots (37-30), ground balls (25-24), and draw controls (16-15).
Snyder turned away 10 of the Osprey shots on the night. Her record on the season drops to 4-8 in the Scarlet Raptor cage.
Maura Twiggs registered the win for Stockton to see her record on the year increase to 9-2.
