GLASSBORO, N.J. (May 7, 2017) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's and women's track teams both finished eighth out of nine teams as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships ended its two-day run at Rowan University here Sunday.
The Rutgers-Camden women collected 14 points, their highest total since notching 25.33 in 2011, to finish ahead of ninth-place Farmingdale State (2 points) in the meet that was won by Stockton University with 236 points. The Raptor men collected 12 points, three more than St. Joseph's College of Long Island, in the meet won by host Rowan (323).

All of the men's points came on the second day of competition, and 10 of the 12 involved sophomore
Cameron Dobbins (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown). Dobbins finished fourth of eight in the 100-meter dash finals with an ECAC qualifier of 10:98 to pick up five points. He posted a 22.58 clocking in the 200-meter finals to finish sixth of seven and collect three points. He also ran on one of the men's two seventh-place relay teams which notched two points apiece.
The men's 4x100 (45.90) team included Dobbins, junior
Eric Gilchrist Jr. (New Castle, DE/Christiana), sophomore
Tom Meyer (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) and senior
Leo Impagliazzo (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford). The men's 4x400 (3:47.12) was comprised of Gilchrist, freshman
Gus Gyamfi (Willingboro, NJ/BCIT-Westampton), Meyer and Impagliazzo.
The women received five of their points on the second day from relay teams, as the 4x400 team finished sixth (4:22.15) and the 4x100 team placed seventh (54.31). The 4x400 team included freshmen
Nicolette Stafford (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional), Diana Befoh (Burlington, NJ/BCIT-Westampton) and
Olivia Rocks (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and sophomore
Courtney Childress (Deptford, NJ/Deptford). The 4x100 team included Stafford, freshman
Lajerah Wright (Atlantic City, NJ/Atlantic City), junior
Alisha Singleton (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) and sophomore
Emoni Poteat (Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Township).
The Scarlet Raptor women, who had six points after Saturday's first day of competition, also received points on Sunday from juniors Singleton and
Jessica Dybus (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown). Singleton finished seventh of eight in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles (an ECAC qualifier of 15:31) to collected two points and Dybus added a point by finishing eighth of 19 in the discus (a personal best of 31.99 meters). Dybus also placed 17th of 21 in the shot put (7.79 meters).
Rocks closed her stellar rookie year with personal bests at 800 meters (2:28.32, placing 11th of 29) and 1,500 meters (5:11.60, finishing 11th of 28). Senior
Millie Hample (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) capped her outstanding multi-sport Rutgers-Camden career by placing 16th at 1,500 meters (5:27.64).
In addition to helping the 4x400 relay team put points on the board, Childress ran a personal best at 1,500 meters (5:43.52 to finish 22nd) and also placed 25th at 800 meters (2:45.05).
During Saturday's competition, the Raptors' six points came from junior
Brianna Kearse (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) with a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw (37.70 meters) and from freshman
Kyleigh Stevenson (Carneys Point, NJ/Penns Grove), who placed eight in the javelin (32.43 meters).
The women's throwers continued their fine performance on Sunday with numerous fine performances, in addition to Dybus' showing.
Freshman
Nicole DeMarco (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City) placed 10th of 21 in the shot put (9.65 meters) and sophomore
Ki-Jana Shockley (Millville, NJ/Millville) was 13th in the shot (8.90 meters) and 12th of 19 in the discus (26.38 meters). Sophomore
Alyssa Charlemagne (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) finished 13th in the discus (24.12, a personal best) and junior
Michelle Impoco (Somerdale, NJ/Highland Regional) was 14th in the discus (24.08).
Among the men's throwers, sophomore
Drew Harper (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) finished 15th of 27 in the shot put (11.52 meters) and 15th of 29 in the discus (33.20 meters). Juniors
Paul Lindsay (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) and
Ken Robinson (Teaneck, NJ/Blessed Sacrament Saint Gabriel) were 18th (11.06 M) and 21st (9.88 M), respectively, in the shot put.
Junior
Richard Campolungo (Burlington, NJ/Holy Cross) finished 16th of 22 in the 1,500-meter run (4:32.66) and Gyamfi was 22nd at 800 meters (2:10.21).
